A godown was raided Friday in Maharashtra's Yavatmal district and spurious fertilisers and pesticides worth Rs 62 lakh was seized, a state Agriculture department official said.
The raid, carried out by the Quality Control squad of the Yavatmal District Agriculture office, led to the arrest of Sachin Kawale, said Yavatmal superintending agriculture officer Nagnath Kolpakar.
He informed that the raid took place on a godown situated on Kalamb-Babhulgaon Road here.
The official said that further probe into the manufacturing and distribution of such spurious fertilisers and pesticides was continuing.
