A 34-year-old man today drowned in the Bay of Bengal off Sagarasangamam coast near Hamsaladeevi in Krishna district, police said.
A group of 20 family members from Piduguralla village of Guntur district had came to Mopidevi temple. Later they visited Sagarsangamam and ventured into the Bay of Bengal, said Koduru in-charge sub-inspector K Vara Prasad.
One of them - U Prabhu Rajakumar drowned. His kin tried to save him and he was taken out of the Bay. Rajakumar was rushed to Avanigadda Government Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival, the official said.
A case was registered, Prasad said, adding a probe was on.
