Man gets 10-year jail term for raping minor

A local court today sentenced a man to 10 years in jail for raping a minor last year.

A fine of Rs 7,000 was also slapped on the convict, and in default of payment he will have to serve six more months in jail.

The case was registered on a statement of the victim's mother, who is a resident of Wazirabad village of this district.

It was said that the accused, who hails from the same village, had taken the 7-year-old girl to an agricultural fields and raped her.
