Man gets 10 years in jail for abducting, raping woman

A man was today sentenced to 10 years in jail by a court for abducting and raping a woman here.

The court found Satpal guilty of abducting a woman in September 2012, keeping her in illegal confinement for over four-and-a-half months at his house in Panchenda village and raping her.

It also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him. The accused and the woman belonged to different communities, government lawyer Sitaram Arya said.
