Man gets 3 years jail term for molesting minor

A special court today sentenced a young man to three years imprisonment for molesting and teasing a 13-year-old girl.

Special Judge (POCSO) Ashok Kumar Vyas also imposed a fine of Rs 2000 on 26-year-old Ramdayal Mali, a resident of Banjaro ka Jhopada, Public Prosecutor Bhupendra Sahay Saxena said.

The victim's mother, a resident of the same village, filed a complaint against Mali on January 16, 2014 for molesting and teasing her minor daughter, he said.

A case was registered under section 354 of IPC and section 7,8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused following the complaint, the PP said.
 

The convict will have to undergo additional imprisonment of one month in case of failure to pay the fine imposed, he added.
