A local court today convicted a man to seven years of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on him for raping a minor girl.
The Ad Hoc court's Additional District Judge Srinivas Singh found Pintu Paswan guilty of raping the girl in English Bazar village at Bath area in March 2011.
According to the prosecution, the victim was washing utensils at a handpump near her house when Paswan, a fellow villager, forcibly took her to an isolated place and raped her.
