A man was allegedly hacked to death by his brother-in-law, who has been arrested in Assam's Jorhat district, police said today.
The person, identified as 48-year old Gojen Gogoi allegedly had a fight with his wife on Sunday and hit her with a catapult following which she had to undergo a surgery, Jorhat Superintendent of Police Amanpreet Kaur said today.
The wife later informed her brother, Jugen Gogoi, who enraged attacked Gojen with an axe while he was sleeping last night and hacked him to death at his house in Habunginya village under Jorhat Police Station.
Police arrested Jugen from his house in Jamuguri village of the district today.
