One kg of gold in powder form and mixed with masala powder was seized and a passenger arrested at the airport here for allegedly attempting to smuggle it from Singapore today.
Adopting a novel moethod, Babu, a resident of the city, had brought the gold in powder form mixed with one kg of masala powder, but customs officials found it when they checked it on suspicion, police said.
The value of the seized gold was Rs 35 lakh, they said.
