Man held for gunning down his wife for not bearing him a son

A man allegedly shot dead his wife at Chapra village today, about 80km away from the district headquarters, as he was upset over the fact that he has three daughters and no son, the police said.

Identified as Ramsharan Rajput, the accused fled the spot after the crime, the police said, adding that he was, however, arrested later.
