Man held for raping minor girl in Maharashtra

A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl inside toilet of a public garden, police said today.

The accused, Jayesh Kamble, was arrested last night in connection with the case, Senior Police Inspector P D Tele of Kasarwadavali police station said.

Kamble had barged into the house of the victim in Sai Nagar locality here on September 1 and picked up the minor girl, he said.

She was taken to a public garden in the vicinity and was raped. A watchmen noticed the girl and took her to the police station. At the same time, her mother had reached the police station to lodge a missing complaint, the officer added.
 

Following a complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
