A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of 168 cartons of cosmetics worth Rs 40 lakh from a godown in north west Delhi, police said today.
Lallan Yadav was arrested last week from his native village in Bihar on the complaint of a godown owner Tarun Narula about the theft, on August 16, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh said.
During interrogation, Yadav said that he along with his associates -- Heera Yadav, Kabari, Upendra and Anrullah -- committed the burglary and had shifted the cosmetics to a godown in Bihar's Ram Nagar.

However, when police raided the godown nothing was found there. Lallan had already briefed his associates to change the place of storage of the goods if any of them is arrested, the officer said.
Later, the cartons of cosmetics were recovered from another accused Murlidhar Pandey's house in West Champaran district of Bihar, he said.
Further investigation in the case is in progress, he added.
