Man killed by grocer for not paying dues

A 45-year-old man was killed allegedly by a grocery shopkeeper over a monetary dispute in Kadalpur village here, police said today.

According to the police, Manbir was killed by shopkeeper Sonu (35) last night after the former asked for some household items on credit despite not clearing his old dues.

An altercation ensued between the two during which Sonu allegedly stabbed Manbir with a spike used for cutting ice, police said, adding, the victim succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital at Khurja.

Following the incident, irate villagers set the accused's house and motorcycle ablaze.

The prime accused Sonu has been arrested by the police, SP (City) Rajesh Kumar said.
