A man allegedly hacked to death his estranged wife and ten-year-old daughter while they were asleep in their house in west Delhi.
35-year-old Jaswinder, a taxi driver, who has been arrested, hit his wife and ten-year-old daughter with an iron rod last night at their house in west Delhi and fled from the scene, Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Goyal said.
The incident came to light this morning when the relatives of the deceased woman found the bodies in the house in Sagarpur area.
Jaswinder was arrested this afternoon from a hideout in Sagarpur and confessed to his crime, the DCP said.
During questioning, Jaswinder said that he was not living with his wife and daughter for several years.
After their relation strained, Jaswinder's wife had started demanding share in his property following which he planned to kill her and their daughter, police said.
