A man allegedly made his 18-month-old daughter consume alcohol resulting in her death today, police said.
Shaik Ismail, a mechanic by profession, already has two daughters and was depressed since the birth of the youngest one, they said.
Police said Ismail consumed alcohol at his house this morning and also made the child drink it, following which she became unconscious.
He then rushed her to Guntur government hospital before fleeing, they said.
The girl died a few hours later, police said, adding efforts are on to trace Ismail.
