A 23-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly murdering his father and dumping the body into a canal at Harsoli village under Shahpur police station, police said today.
Maherban (60), who had been missing since January 9, was allegedly murdered by his son Mohsin over some family dispute, circle officer S P Sharma said.
Police, during the investigation over the missing complaint filed by the family of the deceased, interrogated son Mohsin yesterday, who confessed to the crime.
Mohsin said that he murdered his father with the help of some accomplices and the body was thrown into Ganga canal, Sharma said.
Police are yet to nab the accomplices and a search is on to recover the body from the canal.
