Man sentenced to life for murdering pregnant wife

A man was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for murdering his pregnant wife.

Additional District Judge SN Tripathi also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 on Raidas Singh after finding him guilty in the case.

According to assistant district government counsel Rameshwari, Singh had in June 2012 killed his seven-month pregnant wife Kamlesh for dowry and then claimed that the death was the result of an accident.

She said that Kamlesh's father Kalyan Singh had lodged a dowry murder case against Raidas.
