A man was allegedly shot dead in front of his son by three bike-borne men after they failed to get anything from him during a loot attempt in Shinghavali area, police said today.
Fareemuddin was shot dead last night by three unidentified miscreants who were on a motorcycle while he was returning home with his eight-year-old son Umardeen, they said.
Umardeen told police that before killing his father, the assailants asked him to shell out everything he had in his pocket.
When the son replied that Fareemuddin had nothing in his pocket, the miscreants shot at him and escaped, police said, adding the body has been sent for post-mortem.
