A man was shot dead and his wife injured by their nephew over a property dispute in Fareedpur area here today.
"Chotte Lal Goswami and his wife Javitri were shot at by their nephew Suraj Pal after they refused to handover their agricultural land to him," police said.
"Chotte Lal died on his way to a nearby hospital, whereas Javitri has been admitted to the hospital, where her condition is stated to be serious," they said.
Bareilly DIG Ashutosh Kumar said a case had been lodged against Pal and efforts were being made to arrest him.
