Man, woman charged with terror offences in UK

A 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman arrested last week in Birmingham were today charged with terrorism offences.
Ummariyat Mirza and Zainub Mirza have been chargedwith the intention of "committing acts of terrorism engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to his intention, namely by conducting research and purchasing a knife and other items which would assist him carry out an attack in the UK", West Midlands Police said.
An additional charge of possession of a document containing information of a kind likely to be of use to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism, namely the 'Anarchist Cookbook 2000' has also been made against Mirza.

Both will appear before Westminster Magistrates Court in London.
The UK has kept its terrorism threat level at "severe" following the Westminster assault.
