After merging his People's Party of Punjab (PPP) in Congress fold recently, Manpreet Singh Badal today along with party workers paid obeisance at the Golden Temple here and got a rousing welcome by the local leadership on his arrival.
After paying obeisance the Golden Temple, he paid tribute to the martyrs at the historic Jallianwalla Bagh and later visited the Durgiana Temple here.
Talking to mediapersons, Manpreet alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal interfere in Sikh religious affairs through Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) but he always denied it.

About his meetings with Rahul Gandhi, Manpreet said that the party High Command agreed on his '11 Point Agenda' that would help people of Punjab in the 2017 Assembly polls for the upliftment and progress of State.
The estranged nephew of Parkash Singh Badal alleged that so far SAD-BJP alliance have plundered the entire state by their self-centered thoughts.
Unemployed youths is the biggest challenge for the state and the government has utterly failed in finding a solution to it so far, he said.
On the reason behind merging PPP in Congress, Manpreet said that besides his party lacking adequate funds and proper management which forced him to take the decision, it was also for the larger interest of the state.
Accepting that the popularity of AAP was rising among the masses, he said, the 2017 Assembly elections in the state will be a triangular contest, but anti-incumbency factor would benefit Congress in coming to power.
