Maoist attack police convoy

Cadres of the Trititya Prastuti Committee, a breakaway group of the CPI (Maoist), attacked SP Kranti Kumar's convoy, which was returning from a two-day search operation, near NH-75, they said.

The TPC cadres fired from a hill near Barirampur village, police said, adding that about 30 to 35 rounds were exchanged with the police using mortars to repulse the attack.
