BJP councillor Ashok Lahoti and an independent member today filed nomination papers for the post of Mayor in Jaipur Municipal Corporation office here.
Lahoti was accompanied by the party's state president Ashok Parnami.
The post of the Mayor got vacant yesterday after Nirmal Nahta resigned from the post stating personal reasons.
"Two nominations have been filed for the post of Mayor. Last time for withdrawal of the nomination papers is 2 PM," District Collector Siddharth Mahajan said.
There are 91 councillors in the municipal corporation and the BJP has a majority with 64 councillors.
