MCI's Regional Centre for medical faculty devl'ment in JIPMER

: Medical Council of India has opened its regional centre for faculty development in the Centrally sponsored JIPMER here.

JIPMER has been conducting faculty development programmes since 1976 when the institute was designated a regional centre for medical education. The centre has so far trained more than 1,700 medical educators from different parts of the country.

MCI has now decided to raise the number of trained faculty in medical education and hence MCI had opened the regional centre, a press release from JIPMER said.

It said MCI also embarked on a four-day workshop in which 30 medical faculty from various regions participated.
 

The Vice President of the Academic Committee of MCI, Dr C V Bhirmanandham inaugurated the centre, while JIPMER Director Dr S C Parija presided.
