Teams of doctors and paramedical staff of the Centrally administered JIPMER are holding special medical camps in several villages within the limits of Tindivanam and Cuddalore districts.
The camps were organised by JIPMER following the requirement by Tamil Nadu government. The villages had been identified by the district authorities, an official release said.
The special medical teams to respond to call for help by the rain-hit villages were available round the clock, it added.

Officials of JIPMER would also hold talks with the Tamil Nadu Minister M C Sampath for identification of the areas in Cuddalore district.
Director of JIPMER, Dr S C Parija, said that JIPMER was also distributing food packets to those hit by floods in Puducherry and around 1,000 packets were made available to the taluk office for distribution to the needy.
