Medium sugar softens on lower demand

On the otherhand, small sugar variety closed at overnight levels owing to lack of buying support.

Medium sugar (M-30) edged down by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,031/3,181 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,036/3,181.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,031/3,181 (Rs 3,036/3,181).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,952/3,011 (Rs 2,952/3,011).
