Mentha oil falls by 0.9% on profit-booking

Mentha oil prices were down by Rs 9.90 or 0.90% to Rs 1,088.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 9.90 or 0.90%, to Rs 1,088.20 per kg, with a business volume of 625 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil prices for June delivery drifted by Rs 6.70 or 0.62%, to Rs 1,070 per kg, with a business turnover of 307 lots.

The fall in prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand, marketmen said.
