Mentha oil prices were up by 0.33 per cent to Rs 905.60 per kg in futures market today as traders raised bets on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

Besides, tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from producing belts fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August edged up by Rs 3, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 905.60 per kg in business turnover of 6 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contracts was up by Rs 2.70, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 894.00 per kg in 145 lots.

Market analysts said widening of positions participants following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
