Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,244 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in trimming their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on easing demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October declined by Rs 4.70, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,244 per kg in business turnover of 205 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 3.60, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 1,260 per kg in 34 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to fall in demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly kept mentha oil prices down at futures trade.
