Mentha oil prices eased by 0.45 per cent to Rs 1,409.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by easing demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April declined by Rs 6.40, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 1,409.10 per kg in business turnover of 63 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in May weakened by Rs 5.30, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 1,251.50 per kg in 143 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of decline in demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly weighed on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
