Mentha oil prices were up by 0.62 per cent to Rs 1,514 per kg in futures market today as participants created fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on robust demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March went up by Rs 9.30, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 1,514 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in February contracts was trading higher by Rs 8.60, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 1,510 per kg in 42 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market against restricted supplies from Chandausi led to the rise in mentha oil futures.
