Rains in several parts of the national capital with brief spells of sporadic sunshine led to significant fall in mercury with the maximum temperature settling at 32.4 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.4 degrees Celsius, eight notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 23 degrees, four notches below the normal, said a Met Department official.
Safdarjung observatory, reading of which is considered as the official figure for the city, received 9.6 mm rainfall till 5.30 PM, while areas under Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Aayanagar recorded 12.8 mm, 24.3 mm, 9.4 mm and 20.3 mm rainfall, respectively during the same period, said a Met department official.
Traffic snarls due to water logging were reported from some parts of the city.
The humidity oscillated between 98 and 54 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted light rains and thundershowers for tomorrow afternoon and evening.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rains and thundershower is likely to occur towards afternoon and evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 38 and 26 degrees respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 24 degrees Celsius.
