Banda was the hottest place in Uttar Pradesh at 42 degrees Celsius even as the mercury fell in several parts bringing some respite to people.
Day temperatures fell in Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Faizabad divisions but saw little change in the remaining divisions.
They were below normal in Bareilly, Faizabad, Kanpur, Moradabad and Agra division, Gorakhpur, Meerut.
Allahabad recorded 40.5 degrees Celsius while Lucknow posted 36.1 degrees Celsius.
MeT department has forecast rain and thundershowers at isolated places over the state.
