In the absence of rain, temperature in most parts of Punjab and Haryana hovered around normal level.
Union Territory Chandigarh recorded maximum temperature at 33.6 degree Celsius, according to Meteorological department report.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum was 34.5 deg C while Patiala and Ludhiana recorded high of 34 deg C and 32.6 deg C respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala had a high of 33.4 deg C while Karnal, Hisar and Narnaul recorded maximum at 33.4 deg C, 36 deg C and 34 deg C respectively.
Meteorological department has forecast dry weather in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
