Temperature mostly remained mild in north India today though the mercury rose marginally in the absence of showers in the past 24 hours, except in eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh which received light to moderate rains.
Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning, but the temperature rose as the day progressed and settled at a maximum of close to 35 degree Celsius owing to partly cloudy sky throughout the day.
The day temperature was recorded at 35.4 degree Celsius, four notches below normal, while the minimum was 23 degree Celsius, two points below normal.

Humidity in the national capital was recorded between 34 and 69 per cent, according the MeT office.
In neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, light to moderate rains lashed isolated places in the eastern region, while the weather remained mainly dry in the state's western part.
The local MeT office said that the maximum amount of rainfall was recorded at Churk (1 cm).
Day temperatures rose in Moradabad and Meerut divisions and changed a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
Agra and Meerut divisions saw markedly below normal temperature; Moradabad, Kanpur and Bareilly divisions appreciably below normal; Lucknow and Jhansi divisions below normal; and it was normal in remaining divisions.
Etawah recorded the state's highest maximum temperature at 43.8 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperatures also rose marginally across Punjab and Haryana in the absence of rain in the past 24 hours.
After being lashed by rains for the past two days, the Union Territory of Chandigarh had a clear sky today and the maximum temperature settled at 34 degree C, five notches below normal, the local MeT report said.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 34.9 deg C, down four notches, while Hisar's maximum settled at 36.2 deg C, two points below normal.
Karnal recorded a high of 35.2 deg C, down three notches, while Bhiwani's maximum settled at 32 deg C.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 35.8 deg C, down three notches. Ludhiana and Patiala also recorded below normal maximums of 34.3 deg C and 34.6 deg C, respectively.
