Minor communal tension in Bhilwara city area

Tension gripped a particular area dominated by minority people in Bhilwara city today when two groups from different communities challenged each other over "rumour of a clash" between the same communities, police said.

Five persons from both communities were rounded up for allegedly creating law and order problem in Bala-Chowk of Bhimganj police station, SP Bhilwara, Raghvendra Suhasa told PTI on phone.

Tension gripped the area of Bala-Chowk, dominated by minority people when two groups of both communities challenged each other over rumour of a clash between the same communities in Bhilwara city during the afternoon, the SP said.

Cops immediately rushed from Bhimganj Thana and controlled the situation by pushing away the mob of people from both sides, he said, adding the market was closed in the particular Bala-Chowk area for a couple of hours.
 

Community leaders were called at the police station and local MLA and MP also joined the peace meeting to understand the situation, he said.

No one one was arrested, nor any one was injured, he claimed.
