Minor girl raped by father in MP

A teenage girl, student of class XII, was allegedly raped by her father in Panera tehsil area about 65 km away from here, police said today.

The accused raped his daughter in an inebriated condition last night when his wife was not at home.

According to police, the victim's brother and sister tried to save her but they were overpowered by their father.

After the incident, the girl tried to kill herself by consuming some poisonous substance, but she was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her out of danger, police said.

The accused was arrested last night.
