Minor raped by youth in UP

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Jagdishpur village in Shamli district, police said today.

According to a complaint by the victim's uncle, the accused Naher Singh lured the girl into a sugarcane field yesterday on the pretext of giving her a toffee and raped here, they said.

The girl has been admitted to a hospital in an injured state, police said, adding a case has been registered against the absconding accused and hunt was on to nab him.
