Independent MLA Bidesh Singh, who supports Hemant Soren-led coalition government in Jharkhand, today took charge as chairman of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation.
Some of his followers indulged in late night revels by firing blank shots in the air as others gathered near JSMDC office here watching the unprecedented celebrations.
The police confirmed the incident.
Singh, who represents Panki Assembly constituency, is one of the independent MLAs supporting Soren-led government.
