MMTC ends day higher by over 7 pc, post Q2 profit

Shares of state-owned trading firm MMTC today settled the day with gains of over 7 per cent after the company reported a net profit of Rs 43.84 crore for the second quarter ended September.

At the close, the MMTC stock was quoting at Rs 45.40, up 7.58 per cent, on BSE. On NSE, it closed at Rs 45.50, up 7.69 per cent.

During the day, the stock had climbed 9.47 per cent to Rs 46.20 on BSE.

On NSE, it had soared 9.58 per cent to hit an intra-day high of Rs 46.30.

Following the uptick, the market capitalisation of the company improved by Rs 320 crore to Rs 4,540.00 crore at the end of today's trading session.
 

On the volume front, 6.47 lakh shares got exchanged on BSE, and on NSE, the figure stood at 20.34 lakh.

The company announced its results post market hours on Friday.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 10.08 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Net sales increased to Rs 4,884.99 crore during July-September compared with Rs 2,511.79 crore in the same quarter last year.

Meanwhile, the broader market BSE Sensex today closed at 25,760.10, higher by 149.57 points, or 0.58 per cent.
