Rajasthan government today said wages of contractual workers employed in Mobile Testing Laboratories would be released within a week.
Replying to a question of Congress MLA Banshidhar Khandela, minister of state for Medical and Health, Rajkumar Sharma said in the Assembly that budget for payment of dues has been released and all contractual employees would receive their dues from April 2013 within a week.
On another question of Shivjiram Meena, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Mahendra Singh Malviya said any officer of Jahajpur Assembly constituency involved in police cases of corruption or other irregularities would be punished if found guilty soon.
Contradicting BJP member Om Birla's allegation of purchase of faulty electric meters, state Energy minister Dr Jitendra Singh said no tender was floated to buy meters after receiving complaints from Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer DISCOMs.
In a related case, one Junior Engineer and senior clerk were suspended after a probe by Central Power Research Institutes, the minister said.
