Modi calls Sharif, conveys Eid greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today telephoned his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif to convey Eid greetings.

Modi enquired about Sharif's health and wished him a complete and speedy recovery.

Sharif underwent open heart surgery in London recently and is expected to return home soon.

Sharif thanked Modi for his "kind sentiments", a Foreign Office statement said.
