With an aim to provide better connectivity to all metro stations, Delhi Government today said it has sanctioned Rs 6.04 crore for the procurement of feeder buses to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
According to Transport Department, it has issued permits for additional 24 feeder buses and authorised DMRC to operate 117 feeder buses in different parts of the national capital.
"We have issued permits for 16 new routes for the operation of feeder buses. Besides, 400 more feeder buses are proposed to be added to the existing fleet of DMRC feeder buses," said a senior Delhi government official.
These mini buses would have a seating capacity of 27 passengers.
