A woman and her teenage daughter were killed and four others injured after firecrackers stocked illegally in their house in Aligarh district exploded, police said today.
The explosion occurred last night at the house in Jalali locality of Harduagunj area, killing Afsari (35) and Taiyyaba (15) and injuring four other family members, the police said here.
Afsari's husband Rafiq is a licencee of fire crackers but the place of storage was far away from his house. He had stored the firecrackers illegally at his residence, they said.
Further details are awaited and a probe is underway, the police added.
