Mother-son duo killed as bike hits truck

A woman and her 10-month old son were killed, while her husband was seriously injured, when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a truck on Pilibhit-Basti state highway, police said today.

The incident happened yesterday near Bhadfar, when Sangita (25) was returning home with her husband and son, police said, adding, all the three were rushed to a district hospital.

While the child was declared 'brought dead', Sangita succumbed to her injuries, they said. The condition of the husband is stated to be serious.
