The MP-5 gun looted from a Delhi Police escort party during escape of notorious criminal Jitender Gogi in Bahadurgarh while being taken to a Haryana court last month, has been recovered, police said today.
An alert constable on petrol duty near Haider Pur metro station in north west Delhi recovered the sophisticated police weapon and ammunition from two bikers yesterday, said Vijay Singh, DCP (north west).
"Constable Robin Singh on petrol duty near Haidar Pur metro station saw two bike riders with their faces covered and flagged them off but they tried to escape. The constable managed to catch the bag carried by the pillion rider although the duo managed to flee," said the officer.

"The looted MP-5 gun alongwith a magazine containing 13 live cartridges in it was found inside the bag," he said.
Gogi, being taken from Tihar jail to a court in Haryana's Narwana (Jind) in a roadways bus, escaped after a group of unidentified youths sprayed chilli powder in the eyes of the four policemen escorting him near Bahadurgarh, while taking away the gun on July 30.
Police has managed to nab several of the 10 men who had helped Gogi in escaping who is yet to be arrested.
