The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) today announced it would observe a "peaceful day of mourning in Sindh" tomorrow to protest abduction and killing of its four supporters.

Four MQM workers were allegedly tortured and killed in Malir this morning.

Police said the four workers were going to work in their company bus which was stopped by armed gunmen in Malir and they were first identified and than taken off the bus.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar, in a hard hitting speech in the National Assembly, asked new Premier Nawaz Sharif to pay special attention to the violent situation in Karachi.

Karachi, which is the biggest city of Pakistan and its financial hub, is the stronghold of the MQM which won majority seats for National and provincial assemblies in the May 11 elections.
