Myanmarese arrested for carrying heroin

A Myanmarese national was arrested for allegedly carrying heroin here, Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department (MEND) said today.

Lalrinliani (39) of Tahan in Myanmar was arrested for carrying 28 grams of the contraband yesterday, a statement said.

The contraband was worth Rs 90,000, it said.

In another incident, one Lalvenhima (18) was caught for allegedly possessing seven kg of ganja at Rangvamual near Aizawl yesterday.

The accused was a resident of Champhai town of Mizoram, the statement said.
