Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu today directed officials to extend "all possible" help to the victims of an accident in which 14 people were killed and 15 injured in Andhra Pradesh.
"Extremely saddened to hear about the accident. I reviewed the situation, spoke to the concerned officials to act immediately to extend all possible help and assistance to the victims and provide all necessary medical treatment to the injured," Naidu, the Information and Broadcasting minister, said in a statement.
Eleven persons, including four women, died on the spot when a speeding lorry ploughed into a crowd and knocked down a high tension power cable pole outside a police station at Yerpedu in Chittoor district.

Three persons succumbed at the SVRR Government Hospital where the injured were hospitalised initially. The condition of six of the injured was stated to be critical.
"I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and my prayers are with the injured," Naidu said.
