Naomi Watts wants to star in a comedy

Actor Naomi Watts wants to do a role in a comedy movie or television show.

The "Book of Henry" actress is used to appearing in gritty dramas, but she said she is on the lookout for a more quirky role where she could have a lot of fun on set, reported Contactmusic.

"I want more laughs in my career. I've endured plenty of darkness and sadness and soul-searching. I've been lucky enough to work with the likes of David O. Russell and a movie I did with Noah Baumbach a few years ago. But I'm not the go- to when it comes to comedy," Watts said.
 

"I actually turned down a few during the beginning of my career because they didn't feel right for where I wanted to be. Maybe it's because it's a certain kind of comedy I'm after - a quirky reality, something offbeat where there's a soul underneath. I want to go on set and laugh all day.
