Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday expressed hope that the upcoming Budget Session of the Parliament would not be a washout.

Targeting the Congress party for its "attitude" during the last two sessions, the minister of state for parliamentary affairs & minority affairs said they shall have to explain their role to the nation.

"Due to the Congress' attitude in last two sessions people's Rs 200 crore and 131 hours were wasted, though all the members of Parliament from treasury benches were assuring the Opposition that the government was ready to discuss all issues," he told PTI here.

Keeping in view the recent two sessions, intellectuals, in journalism or elsewhere, have termed the Congress' role as "injurious" to the cause of the nation, he said.

Earlier addressing the party workers, Naqvi said the Bharatiya Janata Party's mission 2017 has started taking shape everywhere in UP.

"Electorate have been expressing their desire to bring back the party's rule in state, since PM Modi has launched several schemes for the welfare of the poorest of the poor," he said.
